BT Launch VPhone USB Internet Phone by Vonage for Broadband Calls

The "V Phone", recently introduced in the UK by Vonage is a "Plug and Go" Key Ring phone on a USB stick providing a simple and effective way to make phone calls over your broadband connection.

The device and earpiece can be connected to a Laptop or PC with a high speed internet connection. Users are allocated a local phone number tailored to a city of their choice but are able to make or receive calls worldwide making it particularly useful for frequent travellers. Voicemail means that calls are not missed even if the laptop is switched off or the USB stick is not plugged in.

This innovative product comes with pre-loaded Vonage Talk software working from a removeable 256 Mb U3 drive and has 250 Mb of memory for data storage.

The "V Phone" retails at £19.99 with a monthly rental of £7.99 (first month free) for the "Residential Unlimited" phone service. The monthly fee includes all calls to UK and Ireland and other services such as voicemail, call waiting, call transfer, call forwarding, caller ID, conference calling. The rental fee for small businesses is £18.99 per month.
